EN10025 S355J2 low alloy steel

S355J2 steel plate, EN10025 standard S355J2 steel plate, under EN10025 standard, we can regard S355J2 steel plate as low alloy steel S355J2 is a high tensile low carbon structural steel with minimum yield strength of S355N/mm2, this structural and shipbuilding steels are according to material standards and project-specific requirement. This structural steels can be delivered in either normalized, normalized + boron or thermo mechanically rolled condition, this steel grade benefits to high strength structures, on the other hand weight saving in the final structure due to plate thickness can be reduced, thus increased effective loads during use as well as cost saving in fabrication.

EN10025 S355J2 steel Chemical Composition

Main chemical composition in EN10025 S355J2 steel : Carbon max 0.23-0.24,Silicium max 0.60,Manganese max 1.7, Phosphorus max 0.035,Sulphur max 0.035. More detailed information, please refer to the following table:

Grade C % Si % Mn % P % S % N % Cu %

EN10025 S355J2 steel Mechanical Properties

EN10025 S355J2 steel plate/sheet for low alloy steels, This kind of steel has very wide use. Because of the low Carbon content and without alloy element, carbon structural steel has the proper tensile strength, good toughness, plasticity, processing property. More detailed information about EN10025 S355J2 steel Mechanical Properties , please refer to the following table:

Grade Thickness (mm) Min Yield (Mpa) Tensile (MPa) Elongation (%) Min Impact Energy
S355J2 8mm - 100mm 315Map - 355Mpa 450 - 630Mpa 18% - 20% -20 27J
101mm - 200mm 285Mpa - 295Mpa 450 - 600Mpa 18% -20 27J
201mm - 400mm 275Mpa 450 - 600Mpa 17% -20 27J
The min impact energy is longitudinal energy
